As the spring moves in us, we started embracing the remaining parts of the land here at Nari. Until now, the main focus has needed to be on renovating the houses, and as we now are well along There, we now have started to groom, trim and most of all CLEAN UP the land.
Clearing the land we have had SO much garbage to move out as the past has given Nari’s ground everything from old tyres over plastic pieces, old ropes, old building-blocks, iron-pipes and all else – all hidden underground, which I think is someone all can relate to in terms of the existence of the past.
As the lands got cleared, it was also framed for the horses to maintain the parts we do not yet use. It left us with a core piece of lad out back, where Pema started building up a chicken den, for little feather-lings to come gift us with their sounds, softness, eggs and sweetness.
Here we are now, and the chickens have now move into the den. They were run in softly by Pema, who made sure they gradually knew the drill of where to go and what to do to stay safe at night from foxes and such.
The chickens are silkies, 1,5 years old and the rooster, Merlin, is nicely taking care of his ladies. This breed of chickens is an old breed from the ancient China. It is the only chicken race which has more of what resembles fur than feathers and in addition it has both black skin and bones!!!
The day after the chickens came, Pema was in the den, when one of the silver chickens came and placed herself 10 cm from Pema – just to make an offering – she dropped an egg right there at the ground by Pema’s boot and went on her merry way. This was the first egg arrival at Nari and it was enjoyed loads by Pema and her husband.
